A Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programme for Primary and Lower Secondary School Teachers supports educators in using play therapy techniques to integrate Social and Emotional Learning into everyday school practice. This 18-hour CPD training includes self-directed learning materials, face-to-face presentations and facilitator handbook. The CPD training is organised into six modules, each combining theoretical knowledge with practical strategies for teachers:
- Introduction to Play Therapy and SEL,
- Key Play Therapy Techniques for Primary School,
- Benefits of Play Therapy for Students and Teachers,
- Applying Play Therapy in Classroom Settings,
- Interactive Training and Role-Play,
- Assessment and Progress Monitoring in SEL.
The accompanying Activity Plans support the practical delivery of the programme. These resources help teachers apply play-based SEL activities that support students’ emotional awareness, self-regulation, empathy, communication, resilience and positive relationships.
